These past 2 weeks I had the opportunity to be on a stand at Malta’s International Trade Fair. Thanks to Stannah StairLifts Services for offering us a space at their stand!
I was promoting healthy living, and the need for educating the public to make healthier choices which would eventually lead them to lose weight if that is the case.
I was offering a Free Body Scan Analysis, or more accurately a Body Composition Analysis. Basically a small ‘current’ passes through the body (you won’t feel it, and it won’t harm you). This ‘current’ finds resistance through your body of fat, muscle and water – and according to your body composition the scales will produce your results. Namely, after inputting in the scale the person’s details of age, gender and height, I would have numbers indicating this person’s:-
* weight
* body fat percentage (the weight of fat in your body and then placing in one of the categories of underweight, healthy, overfat or obese)
* total body water percentage (TBW %) (the total amount of fluid in your body)
* muscle mass (how much your muscles weigh)
* physique rating (your body type, assessing the ratio between how much body fat vs how much muscle you have)
* Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) (the daily minimum number of calories your body needs when at total rest)
* metabolic age (compares your basal metabolic rate to other age groups)
* bone mass (the predicted weight of bone mineral in your body)
* visceral fat rating (this is the fat located deep in the abdominal area surrounding and protecting the vital organs)
These results would then help me and the person to know what lifestyle plans she or he can make to start getting healthier results. For example, two very important numbers that help me when people participate in the Ultimate 8-Week Fat Loss Challenge, are the body fat and the muscle mass – to make sure that one is losing weight the healthy way, we’ll monitor that the muscle mass remains the same or maybe even increase and the body fat would decrease. Hence the person would be losing fat and not just the weight, leading to a healthy lifestyle and chances of keeping the weight off for good.
