The dark marks are caused by a skn reaction known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. They eventually fade (to a degree), but are very difficult to treat.
Over-the-counter remedies may help but some of these can be unsafe – especially whiteners and at-home dermabrasion kits. Always consult a dermatologist, who can prescribe a scar-reducing treatment such as Environ’s Medical Body Roll-Cit needling. In the meantime, you can apply Environ’s Vitamin A, C & E Body Oil daily to minimise scarring. You can also fake flawless legs by covering scars with leg makeup.
