Why do I have Dark Circles Under my Eyes?

Tiredness is a big factor but this can also be genetic or a result of allergies.

Get enough sleep and use a soothing, moisturising eye cream enriched with vitamins and antioxidants – such as Environ’s Ionzyme C-Quence Eye Gel – to help reduce darkness. Be aware that the undereye area is very thin and easily damaged by rough handling.

Pigmentation is also a factor and may be very resistant to treatment but it responds slowly to higher levels of vitamin A (which has to be taken orally and applied topically for at least a year).

Get tested for allergies – if this is the case, a dermatologist will prescribe medication. Sun damage can also cause dark circles under the eyes.
